Science - Intent, Implementation and Impact
Science education is concerned with helping children develop the tools to understand the world around them and to be able to participate in an increasingly scientific and technological society.
In school, children are provided with a wide range of learning experiences to develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
As they undertake different types of scientific investigations, they develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science. Through these science enquiries, not only do they develop scientific skills, they also develop responsibility towards others, confidence and self-respect, independence, co‑operation and team work. They learn to work with perseverance, open mindedness and flexibility, tolerance of uncertainty, honesty, accuracy and precision.
We are very lucky to have a Phiz Lab at our school for Science.
